The Arena Arctica, Kiruna, Sweden. The hangar doors are closing
after one of the planes has been towed to the runway.
The Arena Arctica is a modern research facility that,
for the winter of 2002-2003, simultaneously housed 3 airplanes and
nearly a hundred research scientists. Two floors of offices,
equipped with internet connections and support for chemistry
and physics laboratories, line the perimeter of the hangar.
The office shared by Ross Salawitch (JPL)
and Markus Rex (AWI) is behind the leftmost yellow tarp (background of
picture), between the two folks standing in the foreground.
